Well painted in en grisaille, it represents a pagoda in a garden with a rock and trees. At the bottom it bears inscriptions including the signature Deng Qinglian (้้่ฒ).
Note Deng Qinglian is the son of Deng Bishan, one of the 'Eight Friends of Zhushan', a famous artist of the Republic period who specialised in depicting carp.
