A FINE MOTTLED JADE ARCHAISTIC GU FORM VASE, China, Ming Dynasty, 17th century

The vase of Gu form is decorated to the centre at each side with afront facing taotie head mask.Enwrapping the vase are qilong dragons each with the expression asif they are peering around the corners.The carver has beautifully highlighted the back of the bottom qilong with a black inclusions.The stone of mottled brown tone with black inclusions.Accompanied by a later fitted wood stand.
