A PAIR OF FAMILLE ROSE VASES, China, 2Oth century
h. 24.2 cm
Shaped like a square baluster column, they are decorated on each face with characters; the neck is decorated with lotus scrolls on a yellow background. In the centre of the base they bear the apocryphal seal-mark stamped in red of the Qianlong Emperor.
