A PAIR OF MANDARIN VASES, China, Qianlong period (1735-1796)
h. 41.5 cm
Hexagonal in shape, each side is decorated with a shaped panel enclosing figures in everyday activities. The neck has reserves with sepia-coloured landscapes alternating with flowers and birds, on a turquoise background decorated in relief. The lids have finials in the shape of Buddhist lions.
