A SMALL UNDERGLAZE RED AND BLUE VASE, China, Qing dynasty, 18th / 19th century

Beautifully shaped with a bell-shaped foot, a semi-oval body and a long, slender neck with a flared rim, it is beautifully painted in blue and red below with an eagle resting on a rock in the middle of the sea. On either side of the neck it has two beautiful handles in the shape of stylised qilongs.
