A BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN DISH, China, Ming dynasty, Jiajing period (1521-1567)

Well painted in underglaze blue, in the centre of the interior is decorated with a lotus scroll crowned by five floral medallions, on the border it is well painted with Buddhist symbols alternating with flowers and fruits; on the exterior it has flowering branches, birds and insects; in the centre of the base it bears a square mark in underglaze blue.
