Shaped with a tall foot, ovoid body, short flared neck with raised rim, it is well painted on the body with a continuous scene of male characters intent on reading and conversing amidst bamboo reeds; in the centre of the base it bears the apocryphal four-square character overglaze blue mark of the Qianlong Emperor.
