A GILT GREEN JADE PLAQUE, China, Qing dynasty, 18th / 19th century

On one side, a scene of a mountain landscape with two scholars in the foreground. On the reverse, a walled pavilion amid gnarled pine trees and steep mountains. The back of this plaque is adorned with a scene depicting a pair of sparrows perched on a bush of peonies. The stone is of an intense spinach green color.
