A PAIR OF CANTON PORCELAIN VASES, China, Qing dynasty, early 19th century

With two blue underglaze qilong-shaped handles on the sides, they are finely decorated in relief on céladon ground with polychrome overglaze enamels flowers and fruits and underglaze blue leaves with gilding; on the body, there are two quadrilobed reserves within which there are scenes of male and female characters in gardens in underglaze blue and gilded; on the neck, there are two reserves painted with flowers; inside the rim, there are flowers in the classic 'rose medallion' style.
