A GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF GREEN TARA, Nepal, 17th / 18th century

Seated in lalitasana on a lotus base, with her right foot resting on a single lotus emerging from the base. She holds her hands in varadamudra. Her face bears a benevolent expression, emphasized by downward-facing eyes beneath arched eyebrows and a gentle smile. Her lobes are adorned with earrings shaped like wheels, and her elaborate crown encircles a high chignon. Tara is further embellished with ornamental jewelry, intertwined with long lotus flowers that grace her shoulders.
