A GILT-COPPER FIGURE OF AVALOKITESVARA, China / Tibet, 18th / 19th century

Seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus base, with the hands in prithvi mudra. Wears a wide dhoti chiseled at the edges, leaving the chest exposed, from which a necklace hangs. Above the long hair, which falls in strands over the shoulders, wears a five-pointed diadem.

Provenance: from the Ullman collection, Italy.
