A GILT-RONZE FIGURE OF VAJRAPANI, Tibet, 18th century

Finely cast in alidhasana, with the right hand holding a vajra and the left in katakamudra; adorned with snakes, jewelry, and fluttering ribbons. The fierce face has bulging eyes, and the hair forms flames above a crown. He rests on a lotus flower base and is backed by a flame, with traces of gilding.
