A LARGE FAMILLE ROSE PORCELAIN LANTERN VASE, China, People's Republic of China (1949 - present)

A tall ovoid lantern-shaped body superbly painted with a continuous scene depicting the story of ladies and attendants gathered in a fantastical landscape. The scene framed within ruyi-head borders outlined in blue and yellow enamels and decorated with scrolling lotus and bats, reserved on turquoise ground, the base presents the four-character apocryphal square mark in overglaze blue of Qianlong emperor.
