A RARE PAIR OF PORCELAIN CANTON VASES, China, Qing dynasty, first half 19th century

With two qilong-shaped handles on the sides, they are finely painted with polychrome overglaze enamels on the body on a celadon background featuring lakeside landscapes with boats amidst mountains, houses, and trees. At the center of the body, they respectively feature two reserves depicting Buddhist scenes; on the neck, they respectively have two rectangular reserves containing figures and animals. They are mounted with European gilt bronze bases and lids.
