A SMALL CARVED WOODEN PORTAL, China, Qing dynasty (1644-1911)

Finely carved and decorated in relief with auspicious symbols, it features four columns supporting a central rosette held by two mythological animals, enclosing a scene with figures in a landscape among animals and clouds. The pediment, made up of three panels, displays masks holding medallions that enclose figures.
